CERN invites businesses to propose challenges for upcoming Medical Hackathon
The CERN MedTech:Hack is now looking for private sector, academia and public partners to set challenges for the new medical technology hackathon - and to join the quest for tomorrow’s solutions in the medical field.
The CERN MedTech:Hack is an innovation competition where international teams solve topical problems in the medical field pitched by healthcare organisations and industry partners. A winning team will be supported throughout a 3-month residency at CERN to continue working and developing the concept into a start-up. In addition, selected teams will get to present their projects at the Opening of the Geneva Health Forum conference, and several run-up prizes will provide the participating teams with various entrepreneurial incubation opportunities.
In addition to getting to tap into challenges of the organising parties, state-of-the-art technology will be made available from CERN.
The hackathon is organised by the CERN Knowledge Transfer in collaboration with partners operating in either the medical field or with entrepreneurship: Hôpitaux Universitaires de Genève (HUG), the Geneva Health Forum (GHF), the Global Humanitarian Lab (GHL), Impact Hub Geneva and THE Port.
The hackathon will be held at CERN in April 2018, and applications for participants will start on February 1st 2018.
